Bob, It is true you would like to see satellites from as wide a distribution in the sky as possible for an accurate fix. I was assuming that Barry was going to use his set up for timing the seismic data sampling. In which case you don't really need as good a pattern as you would need for a fix and directly over head is the most likely to be avaliable.
