I believe that this is a 3-component force balance accelerometer. Kinemetrics made them from scratch in order to produce a reasonably-priced product. It triggers on an earthquake and sends analog data to a central recording system. It predates modern MEMS accelerometers, will only detect strong local earthquakes, and should only be purchased for a lot less than this vendor thinks it's worth.
