In addition to Chris' comments, I'd add that if you measure the 
output current of the National circuit, you will get both the desired
signal plus the noise the servo is trying to take out.  It might
be better to use the circuit to stabilize the light output of the
LED or lamp and use a separate position sensing arrangement.
