All the more reason to get rid of as much moisture as possible. 5 kg is not what I would call a 
lot of sand. It can easily be dried in the kitchen oven.

Once the sand is sealed in a bucket all the dessicant packs you can fit in it will not get rid 
of the moisture. Better do it before it's sealed.
