I'd be tempted to pot the geophone in neutral cure silicon rubber.

There are special formulations available which are quite friable (crumbly) when
set in case you ever need to remove it.

Other useful materials include self-amalgamating Poly-Iso-Butylene tape (3M
'23' tape, available from electrical wholesalers) and a favourite among New
Zealand antenna engineers, lanoline grease from sheep's wool (Lanocote).
