Hi Mark,

       Watersorb is a polyacrylamide gel which absorbs / releases large 
amounts of liquid water, while still remaining 'semi solid' - a bit like gelatine 
in your dessert jelly, but chemically more stable. 
       It will not work as a good drying agent for seismometers.
