all can predict earthquakes, if we keep the "when" and "where"
nonspecific.   But on a serious note, are there any scientific tools
used?   Do the phases of the moon and the tides play a part?   I have
asked this question to several people and received just as many

I live along the coast and along the San Andreas Fault, and am a member
of the California Magnetometer Net. We have sensing stations spread
around the state to detect Ultra Low Frequency (ULF) electromotive waves
that could be caused by earth strain. My station consists of a PC
monitoring 3-axis ferromagnetic antennas and while I haven't detected any
quake precursors, it did detect a magnetic storm from the Sun. The
