Hi jerry,

I suggest you perform a simple experiment:

Take a spring, perhaps the spatula for the kitchen.

Clamp the handle to the edge of a table with your hand and give the blade a twang.

Note the frequency.

Now add some mass to the end. Perhaps some blu-tack and coins.

Twang again and note the frequency.
