Chris,

With your Lehman

you have a stationary magnet with the pickup coil moving through the magnet.
You have also shown to use the magnet on the boom with a stationary coil.
This would seem to be a better solution in that you don't have flexing
wires. What are the non-obvious trade-offs. I suppose it is easier to adjust
the stationary magnet approach. Anything else?
