I have a question. Anyone noticing this? For about three weeks now my 
seismic units have picked up less background (urban) noise. This is 
particularly the case on weekends. Has anyone asked why? It is 
uncharacteristically cool here this year.

This weekend respite can't be due to a reduction in semis or train 
traffic. And people going to sports events that regularly are scheduled 
on Friday through Sunday or to the malls doesn't reduce car traffic on 
the weekends. And the week day traffic is not related to particular 
times of the day; well, maybe, 8 to 10 AM and 4-6 PM but this "noise" 
doesn't seem to reduce once it starts.  Most of the local factories run 
24 hr shifts. Yet, what is called "urban noise" seems to pick up about 7 
to 8 AM on weekdays.

I would like your observations/opinions which I hope the following 
comment won't stifle; what if the source of this noise was due to higher 
electricity useage and the noise source is electromotive radiation 
coming off the transmission lines? There could be a lot of reasons for 
it varying seasonally; moisture in the air, temperature as well as 
electrical demand. This increase in noise might then be attributed to 
the salaried workers and students returning to the workplace
