Hi Brett
The tiltmeter has recorded 4 cycles over 11 hours. The period is
close to a world round trip for a surface wave. The odd thing is that Samoa
event was at 17:48:18 and is 140 degrees away in the quiet zone relative to
the UK .But the event was detected at 18:08:00 that is after only 20 minutes.
The initial tiltmeter response occurs at exactly the same time. A surface
wave would take some 70 minutes to reach me. The initial part of the
tiltmeter trace shows a downward maximum at 30 minutes and then an upward maximum
at 2 hours and then it's an oscillation of about 2 hours 22 minutes for 3
cycles. I checked with BGS to confirm arrival times. It's an odd one!
