I have a question about an old instrument that I picked up years ago. = The markings are Sprengnehter Instrument Co, St Louis, Mo and an = engraved number 4218. It is in a square metal box (about 4"x 8"x 6" and = weights about 6/7 lbs). It seems to have a liquid in it and it does have = a bubble level on top of it. It has 4 wires coming out of an old = shielded/sheathed cable. Two of them, when the box is tilted, put out a = spike voltage (they are red/black and measure 11k ohms) The other two = wires (green/white don't put out a voltage and measure about 6 ohms and = neither set of wires have a resistance relationship to the other two).I = assumed it was a strong motion indicator. Playing around with it, = yesterday, I hooked it up in place of my lehman horizontal sensor and it = does pass the "walkup test" generally producing one or two sine wave = signals from the red/black wires being fed into the existing setup. Now, = a few questions. Does anyone know anything about this instrument, and = what are the green/white wires for (an input voltage)? Thank you in = advance.
