Some joke by some funny Geophysicist.
People do like to have fun at the expense of others.
Like using ignorance of others or nievety or innocence or whatever.
Such tom foolery can be simple or get quite complex.
To the point of causing injury to others.
Maybe this was just a joke ??
If it is a serious deadly  thing, you got to think like,  CIA.
