Bob,

A gentlemen named Carl Linden has taken over as the Amateur Seismologist and
has recently sent IRIS some new equipment. He is a very interested in any
suggestions and improvements for the AS-1 sensor and black box.

There are some improvement's he is making. I'm not at liberty to say what
improvement's have been made, but I think everyone involved with the AS-1
will appreciate what he has done.

Kay,

Thanks for publishing the modifications to the AS-1. We look forward to more
about the premphasis design charges made to the black box.

Also, I thank you for the manual you and Tammy Bravo put together. This was
a great help to me after I constructed my AS-1 type sensor.

=A0I want to remind all that the connections between the spring ends an= d the sensor are also flexure points, and deserve every bit as much attenti= on to slip-stick friction and flat spots as the boom attachment. I have lea= rned this from hard experience.
