I would almost be willing to bet the federal government has,
within its rather large bag of scientists, a particular scientist dedicated
to the study of noise.
noise,
only noise,
and nothing but noise,
so help him, the laws of physics.
Does anyone know what the science of noise is called,
possibly, noiseology ???
That’s the guy/gal/whatever to talk to about noise of any kind.

Jon-- 3rd floor may not be ideal, but should work. Years ago I received
mail from Puerto Rica where a gentleman had a long period sensor on the 13th
floor of a high rise--he achieved good results, and at that time for
him, wind sway was the chief noise he contended with. Strains & stresses as
well as electronic noise of an occupied building will no doubt show, but
sometimes that makes copy more interesting!! Think of it as being a seismic
engineer's wonderland...

Hi all,

What are my chances of recording a earthquakes from 3rd floor ? I am
going to move in few days and I got a apartment on the 3rd floor.

My Hvammstangi station is going to remain, but it has been replaced by a
new station with the same name.

Regards,
