I have run across an incompatibility between Win XP (no service packs)
and Win7 when trying to connect via remote desktop.
For some strange reason after making a connection between
Win7 and Winxp the Winxp machine will end the session
with a corrupted keyboard driver with no way to correct it
but reload the operating system.

If you simply create a LAN connection, that’s OK.
But only if you never tried the remote desktop server thing.
The remote desktop thing is totally destroying my Laptop
OS via that connection. Possibly, MS has done this to get you
to update your OS to Win7 at Great expense ??

It is the most irritating problem with Microsoft which I have ever experienced.

It takes a long time to renew the OS.

Because there are no federal interfacing standards required for all in the country.

I have always been in favor of Government dictating technical specs
to industry
so the only differences are in the quality of the manufactured product
and not how it interfaces.

Its time for fido to fetch that neutronium 249, those earthpeople make me sooo very mad.

Hi Geoff -

When I set up a new Win7 computer for a friend, I also used my twoPCs (WinXP), and a MAC, and I was able to read all the various
computers from the other computers. If you can see computer A from B but cannot see B from A, then I suggest that you look at both
the hard drive permissions or the workgroup name. The workgroup name has to be the same for all connections to work.. Keep is
simple. That is where I usually found a problem reading other computers.
