My attention has always been on those .2 Hz peaks for maybe fifteen
years now after the tornado came through here. I have documented the
hurricanes at Galveston and New Orleans and their paths up into the U.S.
I have recorded severe Atlantic storms and Pacific storms and even
strong fronts. But the peaks I am getting now are NOT coming from
anything I can see.
Here is what Chris Chapman just sent me ...and my reply statement. ..he
could be right about the .05 hz peaks I get on the Lehmans ---
The 0.2 Hz is likely to be the microseism background.
Yes, that is what I thought. Just read this paper
(_http://www.ceri.memphis.edu/people/shorton/NOISE/noise.html) _I first
got the idea from looking at lecture by A. Rocchi pptv3 somewhere back
around 2009 in Italy. But this ~.2 Hz stuff is stronger now. I have
watched it for two years now. At times, it was easy to associated it
with particular areas of oceans and seas or strong winds acrossed
mountain ranges but lately I cannot identify any weather source to
attribute it to. about 5 PM local time. Lately the strongest peaks are
on the E-W Lehman

This has been a weird weather pattern here. We are way above our normal
rain amounts after two years of almost drought conditions. The severe
storms are missing us....but not the torrential rains. I did adjust the
damping last May. I will tighten it up some tomorrow. There is a
difference in the temperature of the room and floor in the winter and
summer plus the excessive rains (I believe) are affecting the foundation
of the house...sort of like the house is floating. The ~.2 Hz peak seems
to vary a little and is clearly visible even on the AS-1 in the old
refrigerator. The ~.05 Hz peak is also visible on the AS-1 but seems to
vary more in amplitude on that unit.
You are also in a basin (syncline) ...aren't you? I don't believe your
sediments are as extensive as mine. Read the reference mentioned above
.... Your comments are welcome
