ok  there was another M6.2 a bit closer today (New Ireland, PNG) after that 
one
off Honshu.  nothing obvious recorded.

  Assuming a couple of you have looked at the screen dump of the seismogram,
is that  ~ 3.4 second osc I'm seeing just small underdampened natural movements
  of  the boom ?
  I suspect so,  I also suspect I need to bring the boom closer to the 
level point to
increase the period of the boom.
and also to increase the dampening of the boom.
