For the moment I'll continue this thread on the=20
List, but will try to minimize the quoting to avoid overly repetetive=
 messages.

In reading back over some of your papers, I see=20
that one important point you make is that some=20
mostly unrecognized properties of springs could=20
hamper the performance of force-balance=20
instruments at extermely low frequencies.  Did I summarize that correctly?

I want to try to quantitatively relate these=20
effects to what we are actually seeing and try to=20
determine what we should be looking for to=20
observe their impact on our very long period (1-10 mHz) records.
