"Dropbox" is a very useful application. When you download and install it,
you get a folder called "Dropbox", with three subfolders, "Photos",
"Public", and "Shared". Any other PC that has DropBox installed with the
same email address and password has the same folder and any added files.
The files also are stored at the Web site, and a maxumum of 2GB can be
stored free of charge. When you are on line and change or add a file, it is
immediately uploaded to the web site, and synced with identical
installations on your other PC's.

Other users cannot see your files, unless they are stored in the "Public"
folder. Each file is given a unique URL, so that anyone can see or download
the files, if they know the URL's.

I have made two uses of the public folder. One is to construct a web
site, essentially a duplicate of my Google web site at

https://sites.google.com/site/bobmcclure90/home

The corresponding Dropbox site is at

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47659926/home.html

I have also realized that Dropbox is a useful place to store real-time
heliplots for public inspection. Please take a look at

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47659926/realtime.html

The only problem with using Dropbox is that the URL's are mainly an
8-digit number, and impossible to remember.

  Your comments are invited.
