Chris - I have reoriented the magnet block for the coil as you have suggest=
.
and, yes, I was able to close the magnet gap quite a bit since the arc of t=
he end of the boom no longer is a factor.
=20
I understand your suggestion to move the music wire fasteners closer to the=
edge of the two flanges. I might try using larger washers as you have sugg=
ested to effectively shorten the length of the music wire. I can visualize =
how this will help stabilize lateral movement of the boom.
=20
I could not follow your AL can instructions. I guess I need more of a visua=
l for that to work with my lack of an imaginative mind.

Hi Richard,=20
What metal did you use to make the C at the end of the arm ? Could you =
cut out squares of SS sheet and drill central holes to make square clamp wa=
shers? Washers don't have to be round ! Maybe bend the top washer so that j=
ust the front and back edges grip the wire ?=20
I will make a sketch of the atmospheric noise compensating setup this w=
eekend and send it to you.=20
