Do you mean Mt Rushmore when you say Washington Monument?  If so yes there
is fracking to the southwest and probably to the west on the Wyoming side of
the border but not shown on the map.  We had a couple of quakes about 90km
south of the monument last year but I would not relate them to fracking.  I
figured at least a mile from a well and that well is listed as dry
hole/plugged.  There is also a long fault coming from the east in Nebraska.
I think North Dakota will be the real test.  There is no earthquake history
documented up there and now thousands of wells are going in over a short
time period fracking the Bakken formation.  I found this resource for the
