Hello Steve,

My education is only grade 14 which means nothing to
the academia.

Although Pride is known as one of the seven deadly sins

All i want to know is
How would i be able to procure such a device ?

BTW, For myself, as an A-religious person, there is no such thing as a
sin. I am a US Citizen (Not that religious culture which calls itself
American).

And,

From My point of view as a former SONAR tech who has seen
a lot of military equipment.

It is a real PRO looking kind of job and not one of an Amateur.
Using parts of a military nature.

I know that in foreign countries they pay professionals from
Government monies to compete with armatures who are just
doing this stuff for fun.

Looking at your work makes me think you might be such a professional
and not really an amateur like myself who has no such resources to
compare with many peoples at PSN.

Amateur world is not capitalistic (Or so i thought) its just a bunch
of interested peoples in a given field. Who are not trained to be there.

I do not much like Amateur radio because its
brimming with " CIA or NSA like people " and not
simply amateurs. They are exploiting armatures
for spy like reasons or using a given field
covering their real purposes. There is a definite odd
culture about amateur radio which should ideally
be no culture at all.

I would hate to think this field be the same thing.

Is this true of all Amateur things, What I seem to observe in radio ?

I mean what am sensing about it (Amateurs in general)?

That they are being exploited by the spy world ?

geoff

The instrument design, though completely specified by Brett and Dave, does nonetheless lend itself to some modification, according to the wishes/needs/expertise of the builder. Several models of the "Inyo" have been constructed by the folks in the little group of amateurs that I am proud to be a part of.

I don't have an overall cost (but I believe the materials / parts I had to purchase totaled to a figure far below $200); that would depend on what mechanical materials and electronic parts the builder already has at-hand during construction.

The FBV instrument sits on the floor of the sealed pressure case, a glazed ceramic tile that is cement-grouted to two concrete-block pavers that make a total base thickness of some 3.5 inches. The base is supported on three feet made of large lead fishing sinkers.
