hi gang

I notice a lot of guys post their files relatively quickly after the event
and often the
magnitudes are in the mean time revised by the USGS... usually downwards.
As a result I have made it a bit of a habit for some time now to hold off
posting too
quickly and give the reported magnitude time to settle, usually within the
first hour
or two.
Well tonite I got "zapped" by the USGS, I waited ~ 3 hours before
posting the
New Guinea event, only to have the USGS revise the magnitude about the time
I hit the send button .... sometimes ya just cant win !!! haha
so frustrating huh!! ??

the revised mag is Mw 6.8, rather than the original Mw 7.0 in my file

cheers
Dave
