Malte,

It is what SPICE calls a "Voltage controlled voltage source"  I would 
describe it as a mathematically ideal amplifier, infinite input 
impedance, zero output impedance, bandwidth from DC to ?.   In the 
example it is set for a gain of 28.8 which models the geophone 
sensitivity, G, of 28.8 V / meter/second.

BTW, I just noticed in my spreadsheet that in one place I had labeled 
the units for G as V/cm/sec.  I corrected it to be V/m/sec and 
re-uploaded the zip file.  That was the only change.
