Geoff,

Just for reference, almost everything I am using here I learned long
after I was out of school, much of it in the last few years. Since
it has been over 50 years since I graduated, I essentially have to
re-learn everything, but with the Interrnet I can find good (and bad)
references on almost any subject I need.

Regarding poles and zeros I have written a lot of stuff and made
Excel worksheets. Preparing those is my way to make sure I
understand what I'm thinking about. If I can explain something in
writing then it's possible that I understand it. Most of those
documents I use for my own reference as I can hardly ever remember
the right approach to some computation I worked on a year or two ago.

For the P & Z, it would help if I understood what was your starting
point. Circuit? Response function plot? Physical system? etc? and
what do you want to end up with? List of poles and
zeros? Normalization factors? Numbers for a SEED
header? etc.? It's always best when I can just stick to what you
need and not include a lot of extra stuff that doesn't relate to your problem.

Given some idea of what you're looking for, I might be able to dig up
something that would be helpful.

Regards,
Brett
