Subject: hex files within winsdr updates forgps firmware

wondering out loud here :

i noticed the crc32 for these hex firmware files are the same
for both 13 and 14 chips but the file names are different.
this means to me the file name is somehow telling
the flasher program to do something different ??

maybe a hex file has both flasher codes contained within ?

after all, the file contents seem identical.

are hex files an archive and not a microcode ?

is there an archiving program which handles hex files ?

i believe there is new updates to the gps since 2009 ?

how can i update the gps with old hex files ?

not trying to seem too stupid (ignorant) but,
i think gps firmware should be kept up to date with garmin ?

maybe i need to update the gps firmware using only my computer ?
not the a/d board ?

geoff
