I think the people you really need to answer such a question
are the Seismic Tomography peoples but there exists the
possibility that since these concepts may be competitive
in that they might be used for oil exploration they might not
be willing to share such information with us amateurs.

I have heard through the grapevine that
NMR machines have classified circuitry
which can not be worked on by anyone
but factory peoples.
NMR is also a tomography concept,
or so i understand.
as well as pet scans.
Industrial competitions are the great
killer for sharing of knowledge
and understanding.
Seismic understandings may also
be governed by the almighty pocketbook.
Im not sure we will be allowed to understand
everything the big boys know.
