Jon- You may want to use the high sensitivity (hs) 4.5 Hz geophones with a
24 bit A/D.
The hs phones are available from Mauro Mariotti in Italy:  info@..........
They are same size elements as standard 4.5 Hz but have more windings and
better sensitivity, but do not work with all PA=92s.  Need a high impedance
as they are R~3.4K ohms.
*           hs 4.5 has  ~3.4 k ohms & ~90V/m/s
standard 4.5 has ~360    ohms & ~30 V/m/s
Mauro also has 2 Hz phones available.
