Barry, The PSN Explorer program comes with the new beta release of WinQuake. After unzipping the beta release zip file you need to copy all of the files into your WQ root directory. One of the files you will be coping is the psnexplorer.exe program. Basically PSN Explorer (PE) is a web browser. To use it you must have Microsoft's Internet Explorer version 4 or 5 installed on the system. The main advantage in using PE is when you download event files from my system or from other event file databases like the one at http://www.iris.washington.edu/pub/farm/. When you select an event file for downloading PE will execute a FTP transfer and then the download is completed notify WQ of the new file. WQ will then open an Event (seismogram) window containing the new file. You do need to specify a download directory like c:\temp that can be used each time a new file is download. You specify this directory once by either using the File / Download Directory menu items in PE or you will be asked for it the first time you try and download an event file. PE is also used as the help viewer for WQ if you have Internet Explorer loaded on the system. PE fixes a problem with Internet Explorer when viewing help information within WQ. Hope this helps. -Larry Cochrane Redwood City, PSN At 05:49 PM 11/27/99 -0800, you wrote: >Hi Larry > I guess I missed the part about psnexplorer (checking a sensor under a >rock :) ) .
