Ed Thelen and George Harris, Excuse the answering delay, I had afew days of illness. Very nice writeup Ed on magnets. George I tried such a route of comparison today. For my disks, they were mounted in brass fixtures, and had no common "bond", soft iron holder/spacer. It turns out probably somewhat predictable: I got twice the output with the N-S poles, from what I got out with the repelling poles. 1.7v max versus .9v, from a 9.88K coil, by noting the peak over a period of time. To go further, when mounted in a vise (soft iron spacer), the repelling poles did indeed show no voltage. So....its a answer to my own question, and not the route to go. Curiosity is satisfied. Thanks for the responses. Take care, Meredith Lamb _____________________________________________________________________ Public Seismic Network Mailing List (PSN-L)
