Dick,

On both the DB9 and DB25 the transmit and receive lines are on the same pins 2 and 3. Just make sure they are swapped. The ground on the DB25 is pin 7 and on the DB9 pin 5. So pin 5 on the DB9 should go to pin 7 on the DB25 connector and pin 2 on the DB9 should go to pin 3 on the DB25 and pin 3 to pin 2.

Larry,

The cable I am using has a DB9 AND a DB25 on each end of the cable.  I looked at Tommy's connector page but could not find the db9 connector.  What should be the correct pins for the Return, Transmit and GND.

Dick,

WinSDR will run fine under NT. Karl is running it under NT and I use Win2K. Win2K is very similar to NT. I would double check your RS-232 cable. The GPS receiver connects up to the sdrservr system not the WinSDR computer.

Larry

Hi and Merry Christmas to all!

Does WinSDR run under NT?  I have installed it on a laptop running NT.  The sdrservr is on a dos machine.  I am not getting any communication and have tried all available port settings.  Also, should the GPS be hooked to the WinSDR or the sdrservr computer?  I am using a Belkin file transfer serial cable that has a crossed null-modem wiring design.

Dick
