Hi Everyone,
I have new releases of WinSDR and WinQuake ready for you to run. You can
download them from the WinSDR doc page here
http://www.seismicnet.com/WinSDR/. The zip files only have the new exe
files. You will need to unzip and copy the exe files to their respective
directories.
WinQuake:
I'm releasing a new version of WinQuake to support a new feature in WinSDR.
After saving one or more event files in WinSDR you can have it open WinQuake
and display the new file, if you only save one file. If you save more then
one file the File Open Dialog box will be opened to the directory containing
the new files. To use this feature in WinSDR you must first let the program
know where WinQuake is located. You do this once using the File / Locate
WinQuake menu items. This will open the Locate WinQuake dialog box. This
dialog box is used to locate the winqk32.exe file on your system. In the
Save Event dialog box in WinSDR you will see a new check box Open WinQuake.
If selected WinSDR will open WinQuake after saving the file(s).
There is one other feature, but not new, in WinQuake that can be used to
transfer an event report to WinSDR. In the Report dialog box of WinQuake you
will see a Save on Clip Board check box. If selected, WQ will save the
selected event report as a string on the system's clip board. WinSDR can use
this information in the Replay Dialog box. There you will see a button
called "Report". selecting this button will seed the start time information.
The user can then start the replay process by pressing the Start button.
WinSDR:
I improved how the program saves event files. The event file start and end
times should now be the same as the times in the Save Event file dialog box
+- 1 second. Before, WinSDR would start saving data to the event file from
the record file at the beginning of the data block containing the start
time. WinSDR saves data in one minute blocks, so the start time could be off
by up to 59 seconds. This also effects how the program save event file(s)
automatically. Now the start time will be the number of minutes before and
after the event as specified in the Alarm Settings dialog box.
Also related to this, and in the Alarm Settings dialog box, you can now
enter a fraction of a minute in the Save Before and After edit boxes of the
Auto Save Time Settings group.
The X or time scale in the Real-time Window is now in minutes per line, the
same as the Replay Window. You can also display the trace start time on the
left side of the RT and Replay Windows. In the Display Control dialog box
you will see a new group box Time Information that controls the time display
in both the RT and Replay Windows.
I changed how WinSDR redraws the history information. You can now set the
number of lines to redraw. What I like doing is setting the redraw lines to
24, the number of lines to display to 25 and the X scale time to 60. This
will display the last 24 hours worth of data and refresh the window once per
hour.
In the Replay Dialog box, the Save Event dialog box will be opened if you
use the Start button. The user can then enter a save time in the Save Event
dialog box and then save the event without having to use the mouse to double
click on the start and end times in the Replay Window.
That's it for now....
