Hi Everyone,
I have a new release ready for everyone to download. This is WinSDR version
1.5. I also have new versions of SDRServr.exe and the firmware on the Serial
Output A/D board. This release uses a new setup program I found on the Net.
It's free, so the price is just right and it seems to work very well. Please
let me know if you run into any problems using the setup program. You can
download the setup program from here http://www.seismicnet.com/WinSDR/.
Since the new setup program produces a smaller setup file then the last one
I was using, I do not have a exe only zip file.
SDR Server Version 1.5:
I added the Local Reference time feature to the program. This uses the
computer connected up to the SDR Server system as a time reference source.
The Windows system should be running NTP or some other type of time keeping
software that can keep the system's time accurate to a few milliseconds. I
also fixed a few bugs so users using this program should upgrade to this
version. The new SDRServr.exe file is included in the setup program. You
will find it in the root directory of WinSDR.
Serial Output Firmware Version 1.5:
I added the ability to have the board act as a time server similar to SDR.
This used is the AUX Comm Port on the A/D board to send out time
information. Also, the GPS Comm port can be used as a time reference input.
In this configuration one A/D board would have GPS or WWV as the time
reference input. This board can then send out time information to another
A/D board. This second board would have the Port time reference mode
enabled.
I also fixed a few bugs so if you have this board you should upgrade the
firmware before using WinSDR Version 1.5. The Rabbit Field Utility program
that updates the firmware on the A/D board is now contained in a setup
program. The current bin file (rsdr15.bin) is also located in the setup
program. You can download the RFU setup program from here
http://www.seismicnet.com/software/rfusetup.exe. Documentation on how to
updated the firmware can be viewed here
http://www.seismicnet.com/WinSDR/firmware.html.
WinSDR Version 1.5:
Arie in Australia found several bugs in the last release, so this release is
mostly a bug fix release. Thanks Arie! One thing that is new is for WinSDR
to communicate with another A/D board system by opening up another system
window. One would do this if they needed to record more then 8 channels. Use
the File / New / System Window menu items to open a new system window.
The setup program now installed the help system so all of the dialog boxes
have a working Help button. Like WinQuake, WinSDR uses the PSNExplorer.exe
program to display the html help files.
That's it for now....
