Jan,

Thanks for running the test. I added code to WinSDR so that it responds to the exit command sent to all of the open application before Windows shuts down. This should fix the problem. It seems to work fine on my Win2k system. I will have a new WinSDR release ready later today or tomorrow.

I did several tests -- everything seems to work OK if WINSDR was shut down prior to the reboot. The problem seems to be intermintent if I reboot without WINSDR being shut down first, such as if the system is hung and I need to just press the reset button. This is definetly not a serious problem -- just something I noticed -- it may be my mother board too??

    Jan,

WinSDR sends a command to the A/D board when it shuts down. This command places the A/D board into a mode so that it sends out a "I am here" messages. This is needed to start the communication between WinSDR and the A/D board. No one else has reported this problem, so I'm not sure if its a problem with just your system or generic with Win98se?

If you first close WinSDR and then reboot the system do you see the same problem as if you are running WinSDR when you reboot? WinSDR is currently not responding to the shutdown message sent to all open windows. If closing WinSDR before rebooting fixes the problem, I should be able to fix the problem. If not, then it's a problem with Window and there is nothing I can do about the problem.

I am making progress on getting my Lehman working correctly -- very slow but progress never the less.

I am also playing with the computer side of things. I have discovered that I must either power off the winsdt board or disconnect the serial cable to the pc before I can reboot my pc. It appears that if there is data flowing it hangs the system solid. I am running WIN98se. Question -- are you using some type of flow control between the program and the board. I think if the data stopped until WINSDR started up again all would be well?? I am wondering if it has something to do with the system looking for a serial mouse?? I do not use a serial mouse.
