Jerry,
Outside the reference you cited =
(http://www.dtic.mil/cgi-bin/GetTRDoc?AD=3DADA323466&Location=3DU2&doc=3D=
GetTRDoc.pdf pages 138 and 139) I found nothing on the net for the =
Everlert 6000. There are, however, references to early Everlert =
instruments in this document: =
http://miningandblasting.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/seismographs-an-hist=
orical-overview.pdf=20
Note that the manufacturer of the unit is given as ETI. In that article, =
there is reference to ETI's Everlert II as well as the Everlert =
Vibra-Tape 5000 which is probably the predecessor to yours. The alliance =
of Geosonics & Vibra-tech is now marketing the Vibra-Tech Everlert III =
which is apparently the successor to either the Everlert II or the model =
you have.
You can download the manual for the Everlert III from =
http://www.geosonicsvibratech.com/images/stories/pdf/Everlert_III_Manual.=
pdf
Refer to page 2-5 of the manual to see what is typically printed by that =
unit as well as most seismic recorders of that general type. (The =
compliance report is a relatively new feature, at least for my old =
bones.)
These general units are designed for monitoring nearby events such as =
pile driving or blasting activities, not earthquake-type seismic events. =
They employ small exploration-type geophones that may be in the range of =
3.5 to 14-Hz and possibly higher. They are not suitable for recording =
low frequency signals.
Most of the units of this general design use thermal-sensitive paper -- =
like used in most fax machines.
If you take several photos of the unit (inside and outside) I may be =
able to help you understand some of its functions. While you have the =
box open, make sure the batteries are not leaking and all the chips and =
boards are seated.=20

Subject: EVERLERT 6000 need help =E2=80=93 take 2

Hello all,
Sorry I left such a long winded original message, but hopefully somebody =
reading this list may have any information regarding this unit. Even an =
old plot to see what info is produced would be welcome Again, this is an =
Everlert 6000 originally made by Vibra-Tech Engineers. I have a unit =
where all it seems to do is display =E2=80=9Cdownload program=E2=80=9D =
or 'Power Save - Press any Key". I need help on this.
The printer seems to be a pen-plotter used as a printer. This ought to =
be fun.
I would like to get this working so I can see if it has the capacity to =
be used for viewing seismic events.
Has anyone any information on this unit? A user manual (or a service =
manual) would be extremely helpful.
I am not sure how active this group is, but I would welcome even =
anecdotal information.
Is anybody out there!?
