Replay Mode

Contents:

Introduction:

The Replay mode of SDR is used to search for an event in the daily record files and optionally extract PSN formatted event files of the event. Too enter the Replay mode; press the R key at the main SDR screen or the single channel display screen. Too exit the Replay mode; press the ESC key

How it works:

As SDR runs, data from the A/D channels is saved to a daily record file, one for each channel. The Replay feature opens the correct record file based on the start date and time and displays the channel data on the screen. The user can than move back and forth in time looking for an event. If an event is found, the user can then save the event to a PSN event file. This event file can then be viewed and analyzed using WinQuake.

Replay Menu Items:

Start Date:Enter start date in Month/Day format. Start Time:Enter start time in Hour:Minute format. Local or UTC Time::Enter L for Local or U for UTC start time. Y-Scale Compression:Enter a number to use for the Y scale compression. This only effects the display screen, not the saved data. X-Scale:Enter a number to use for the X scale (time) compression. This only effects the display screen, not the saved data. Number of Lines:Enter the number of lines to display. Channel:Enter the channel number to display. Only one channel can be displayed at a time. Save Nth:Used when you save an event to a PSN event file. Used to compress the number of samples. A value of 1 will save every sample. A value of 2 will save every other sample etc. Minutes to Save:Enter the number of minutes to save when an event is saved to a PSN event file. Save All Channels:If Yes, all channels will be saved. If No, only the channel being replayed will be saved. Start Replay or Alt-R:Selecting this menu item and pressing Enter, or pressing ALT-R keys at any time, will start the Replay process. Save or Alt-S:Selecting this menu item and pressing Enter, or pressing ALT-S keys at any time, will bypass the Replay process and directly save data to one or more PSN event files based on the start date/time and other information selected above.

After starting the Replay process the following keyboard commands can be used:

ESC Key:Exits the current Replay screen. R Key:Allows you to change the current Y Scale, X Scale and number of lines to display 1 to 6 Keys:Changes the current channel number being display. The new channel will be displayed starting at the current replay screen time. Right Arrow or SPACE Key:Advance one minute in time. Left Arrow:Move back one minute. Down Arrow:Advance more then one minute. Up Arrow:Move back more then one minute. S Key:Used to (S)ave the data to an event file. You can either use the default file name or supply your own directory and name.
